P&O JUNIOR INFORMATION

Players & Parents Meeting.....
A good turn out... Over 40 junior members and their parents attended the pre-season meeting for the junior section on Tuesday 4th April.
Following an introduction from Chairman Nick Cartmel, our ECB lead coach Gareth Bradley explained the format that practice and coaching would take this season.
Club Welfare officer Bill Ewen explained what his role is within the club.
Parents were invited to take a more active role in the club, both with training and running the junior section, following which a number came forward and expressed an interest. We hope to arrange ECB courses for those interested.
The club has published a parents pack which was issued at the meeting and will be issued to all new member families.

Prescot & Odyssey CC have entered the Under 13's & Under 15's competitions of the Merseyside Youth Cricket Competition, we await the fixture list but it will be published on this page as soon as we have it.

We are eager for cricket to be played as much as possible, but as the season approaches levels or work on the ground will intensify, a number of our junior members have been using the cricket field over the winter and have caused a fair amount of damage which must now be repaired.
Please refrain from using the nets and the artificial wicket for practice until the season gets underway to allow for that repair work to take place.

Over the next few weeks a number of pesticides & herbicides will be applied to the ground. These can be hazardous if bare skin comes in contact with them, or if injested by means of a cricket ball rolling over the treated area and fingers then licked, or mouth wiped. This treatment may happen at any time over the next few weeks so please avoid the playing ares until advised it is OK.
